The planet looked beautiful from space. It looked beautiful when they where rushing through the atmosphere and circling over the surface. There were large cities and green forests in between, wide rivers cutting through the continents and eventually reaching the seas.

The bright white paving, previously immaculate, was covered in blood and dead Reavers. Once again there was silence. But there had been enough silence on Miranda. There was a message to be delivered.

A scream was heard, like the ones on the recording, but this one came from outside. It was followed by more screaming and some crashing, and then a harpoon with a rope attached flew through the open door and hit the opposite wall.

It looked as if the rain had just stopped. The smell of damp concrete and dust hit River as she peered out of the exit. The landing had been somewhat bumpy, and the furniture had ended up in one corner, but the ship had stood the test and no important parts seemed to have come off.

Blair had taught her how to meditate, and led her on to the spirit plane. Strange place. But she was pleased to know that there was a place where the blue hedgehogs existed. But more importantly, she now knew where to go looking for answers.

She phoned Jack and Kaylee. Then she phoned Parker. And then Jane.

And she really needed to tell Buffy.
